1️⃣ Offerings at the Dharma Assembly: To express gratitude to all the gods and beings of all realms.

A grand offering is made before the Buddha, to the Buddha, the heavenly deities, the guardian spirits, and all other guardian deities and masters, to comfort the gods of the heavens. 🙏🏻

Whenever an apprenticeship ceremony is to be held, a large number of offerings must be prepared, among which a "Baishi" (拜史) is essential to communicate with the spirit world in heaven and invite the gods to descend. It is handmade from banana leaves and fresh flowers and comes in various forms such as dragon, eagle, Dharma wheel, and lotus to invite gods of different ranks to descend.

Offerings also include pig's head, chicken, duck, fish, shrimp, and crab. Fruits include sugarcane, coconut, bananas, and seven other different kinds of fruit. A small amount of alcohol, cigarettes, betel nuts, and tea are also essential. (The specific offerings depend on the officiating monk.)

2️⃣If there is any remaining donation, the master will use it to perform good deeds for everyone, help those affected by the recent floods in Hat Yai, or donate to temples, etc.

The main purpose of this Grand Dharma Assembly for Offering Merits to the Masters is:

1. Expressing respect and gratitude: Expressing reverence and gratitude to the Buddha through abundant offerings.

2. Enhance spiritual merit: This kind of offering helps to accumulate good karma, enhance merit, and improve future life and spiritual conditions.

3. Praying for blessings and protection: Through offerings before the Buddha, we pray for blessings, wisdom, health, and protection from the Buddha, and for the removal of obstacles and misfortunes.

4. Cultivating mindfulness and character: During the offering process, it is necessary to maintain mindfulness and compassion, which helps to improve one's character and spiritual practice.

The apprenticeship ceremony involves a wide range of aspects, including not only teachers on earth but also teachers in heaven; teachers in heaven refer to revered masters and guardian deities, while teachers on earth are the instructors and teachers who guide our learning.

Whenever an apprenticeship ceremony is to be held, a large number of items need to be prepared. These items are made of banana leaves and come in various shapes such as dragon, eagle, Dharma wheel, and lotus.
