[ Introduction to the revered monk Noi of Cuba ]

Kruba Noi's original name was Plasit Gongkam . He was born on Saturday, February 10 , 2494 BE (Buddhist Era). He was born in the Year of the Tiger. His family was originally from the Sarabhi district of Chiang Mai province. He had four siblings.
Plasit Gongkam
was said to have been born with his entire body wrapped in the umbilical cord. There is a legend in northern Thailand that any boy born with his entire body wrapped in the umbilical cord and who does not die accidentally from umbilical cord entanglement is destined to spread Buddhism.

On June 6 , 2507 BE (Buddhist Era ), the Year of the Dragon, Kruba Noi officially became a novice monk and was given the nickname Noi .

Kruba Noi is a disciple of Kruba Phra, the former abbot of Wat Sri Don Moon. Kruba Phra is a very famous and important monk in Chiang Mai and even the whole of Northern Thailand. When the King and Queen of Thailand were young, they made a special trip to Wat Sri Don Moon in Chiang Mai to visit Kruba Phra. At that time, Kruba Noi accompanied Kruba Phra and represented the temple in receiving the King and Queen .

Kruba Noi learned various aspects of Buddhism from nine masters (1. Kruba Phra 2. Kruba Ingyo 3. Kruba Boon Leng 4. Kruba Phra Pongma 5. Kruba Kyoshi Yichai 6. Kruba Ratati 7. Kruba Kanban 8. Kruba Chayan Ongha 9. Salakumaa ). To this day, the master continues to study and contribute, whether it is sprinkling water for blessings, making amulets, making blessing candles, offering more auspicious items, his concepts and views on meditation, the methods of ancient people making medicine, environmental protection, and his research on Buddhism, etc.

Noi from Cuba wakes up at 3:30 AM every day and rings the bell at 4:00 AM to wake the monks in the temple. He then preaches, teaches meditation, and walks in circles in the temple chanting prayers for the well-being of all beings. He met with believers at 10:00 AM , had lunch at 11:00 AM , and then meditated.  He begins receiving believers at 2:00 pm , expounding Buddhist teachings, offering blessings, and sprinkling holy water until 5:00 pm . Then he meditates again, expounds the Dharma with the monks, and answers questions from daily practice until 1:30 pm before finally going to sleep. He gets up again at 3:30 am . He has never stopped this routine for many years, sleeping only 2 hours a day, which is truly shameful!

Each year, he undertakes a 3-9 day retreat for meditation, abstaining from food and drinking only small amounts of water, remaining in a state of profound concentration for extended periods. Every full moon, he makes a pilgrimage to the stupa of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai to pray for blessings, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep , propagating Buddhism and benefiting all beings. Besides his spiritual practice, Kruba Noi also dedicates himself tirelessly to the promotion, education, and development of Buddhism in the local area. 🙏🏻
