LP Maha Sila , whose original name was "Sila Nilchan" , was born on October 14 , 1945 , in Thawat Buri District, Roi Et Province . She is the son of Mr. Kaen and Mrs. Noi Nilchan , and her family were farmers.


After graduating from the village primary school Come out to help my family farm However, he had a heart devoted to Buddhism, and at the age of 15 , he became a novice monk. At Wat That Pratap, he was ordained as a monk by Phra Siriwutmethi at Wat Burapha Phiram Temple in 1966 , when he reached ordination age .


Luang Pu Phra Maha Sila diligently studied Buddhism. He passed the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral examinations (Nak tham) and the 6th level of the Pali examination. In 1972 , he received the Order of the King Rama IX of Thailand at Wat Phra Kaew and was assigned to Wat Nikomkanaram in Roi Et province as a teacher, responsible for the monks who were always praying in the monastic community's ubosot .


Aside from the differences in the realm of cultivators Routine free time He also lived in seclusion and made pilgrimages in the forests of several provinces. In 1974 , he crossed the Mekong River to Mount Buffalo in Laos, where he met many famous teachers from Northeast China, such as Luang Pu Thongma Thawaro , Luang Por Maha Bunmi Sirindhorn , and Luang Pu Lee Kusoltharo .


He also studied Vipassana meditation, the Lao language, and read books on the Isan palm leaf. This included studying scriptures from former renowned monks and teachers of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.


After 2007 , he traveled to various places for practice and meditation, including several cemeteries. All the abbots of Wat Posisa-ard greatly admired him and invited him to practice at the temple during the rainy season retreat. He wanted to practice in the Gapae village Buddhist garden, so the devout men and women made lotus pods to offer to him so that he could continue practicing there.

Phrathamma rattanadilok, the abbot of Wat Suthattepwararam , also greatly admired him and invited him to assist in consecrating amulets and Buddha images at Wat Suthattepwararam. The same was true in many other temples in the northeastern region. This was because his devotees had witnessed his divine powers, such as the power of stupas, spiritual practice, compassion, solitude, and the ability to foresee the future.


He is a monk who has spent a long time practicing alone in the mountains, indifferent to fame and fortune, compassionate, and living a life of ease with cats and dogs, seeking neither riches nor honor. To this day, he lives alone in a small lotus-shaped room. Devout men and women, including villagers, seek refuge with him.
