The annual Loy Krathong festival in Thailand is a spectacular sight, with rivers and ponds dotted with lights, earning it the title of "the most beautiful Thai festival." The festival takes place on the night of the full moon on the 15th day of the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar (November in the Gregorian calendar ) . Although not a national holiday, it still attracts many locals and international tourists to celebrate.

The Loy Krathong festival in Thailand is associated with praying for blessings and warding off misfortune. Legend has it that the festival is a way to worship the river god Phra Kone Ka , praying for favorable weather, peace, and a bountiful harvest in the coming year. Releasing krathongs (floating lanterns) on the water also symbolizes that bad luck, misfortune, or sins accumulated over the year can be carried away by the water.

Some people put their hair, nails, and coins on the floating lanterns and let them float away on the river, symbolizing that unhappiness and bad luck go with the river. In addition, Loy Krathong is also regarded as Thai Valentine's Day, and couples release floating lanterns in pairs to pray for lasting love.

[ Introduction to Arjan Thep ]

Master Arjan Thep Pongsawadan was someone who had been interested in mysticism and magic since childhood. He was born into a local wizarding family and learned ancient mystical magic.

He was able to make Kuman Thong for his own use from the age of thirteen. He became a novice monk at the age of 15 , studied meditation with Luang Por Sakchai at Wat Srakaew in Chaiyaphum Province , and studied ancient scrolls for two years with Luang Por Worrapot at Wat Chumpon in Khon Kaen Province . When he left the monastic life, he received the monastic name "Kusonlajitto ," which means " a kind person . "

He did not stop to learn more about mysticism. He followed Luang Por Worrapot on a pilgrimage in northeastern Thailand until they reached Laos. During the pilgrimage, he learned ancient tomb magic, spirit possession, and other spells from the monks, men, and local shamans.

He then had the opportunity to study the mysticism of Kao Aor within the lineage of Arjan Chum Chaikiri . Even after Arjan Thep had left the monastic life, he continued to study magic and mysticism.

Arjan Thep began creating various sacred objects for devotees to offer and wear. Feedback from many indicated that the objects were indeed effective, and word-of-mouth spread widely ! Arjan Thep 's objects primarily focus on enhancing popularity, prestige, and protection against evil. His most famous object is the Kuman Thong (a type of spirit child), and he has appeared on television multiple times, even being called the "Kuman Thong Prince."
